I didn’t know if my nine-year-old son was ready for it, or if he’d take to it, because he generally likes full-length stories… and the first time he picked it up, he said, “Yea, I want a long story.” And I didn’t push him, and then, later, he just picked it up again, and read it – and read it, and read it, and read it. Again and again, he’s gone through the book multiple times, and he really just enjoys it and he thinks about it and he picks it up, again and again. He picks up other books, but this one he’s taken to over and over, like it never gets boring. He’s asked me to get him the second volume, and I certainly plan to do that, knowing how much he enjoyed volume one.
My sister’s kids, they loved the stories, and in particular, my sister’s kid keeps telling her to read the one about the lion. She’s read it to him about seven million times, and he knows all the details. Thank you so much!
Having a book like Amazing Miracle Stories really puts you on the map, especially with the younger generation. I know a kid who had to be taken in by a frum family, who is new to Yiddishkeit. They made a bar mitzvah for him, and I bought him this book as a gift. The parents said that the kid loves the book, he’s reading it every day. It’s amazing how far-reaching these stories are, the impact they have. Keep up the good work, and Can’t wait to see your next book.
You don’t understand – my wife and my kids, we’re very into books, and we just sat down and opened up the first book, and the first story – it’s so clear for kids to understand, it uses such easy words, and the way you boil down the stories, it’s amazing. Keep it up.
I love it! I’m reading it all the time, and we’re all like, “We only have one book!” so me and my cousins and my brother, we’re all like, “No! It’s my turn! I wanna do it, I wanna read it!” so we’re switching out between stories.
I have to tell you again, Yosef Shidler, a huge thank you, because my boys are gobbling up your books – when I say gobbling, I mean devouring it. Reading for hours at night, I don’t hear from them, and they just fall asleep eventually. They’re making a siyum on one book, and then they go on to the next one. Thank you very, very much.
These books are really wonderful. We really love reading them to our kids… I usually read them half a story a night, but I always end up finishing it because I'm so curious to hear what happens.
I read these stories over Shabbos, and I was so impressed. I was like, wow, these far exceeded my expectations, first of all, the fact that they were so personal – and the different fonts and graphics, the easy way they’re written – they’re so readable. I was extremely impressed, like, extremely impressed, like – wowza!
I gave this to my ten year old right before bed one night. In the morning I saw she had saved her place in the book a few hundred pages in. She loved the book and couldn't put it down. The graphics are done so well! This is a much needed book in our generation.
Fill your life and your heart and your home with books like these!
I read this book to my children and then shared the stories with my day camp. This book is one of the best I've ever read in the field. Kol hakavod to the authors!
This book is extremely well done. The stories are written in a captivating and interesting manner, intriguing for children and adults. The graphics are high end and engaging for children. My young children who don't read yet love looking at the graphics, and all ages sit around to listen to the stories being read. I’ll admit that I found myself captivated by the book when I first picked it up just to peak, the next thing I knew it, I was reading story after story… This book is a must for any family who appreciates inspirational influence for their children.
I wish I could say that I loved reading this, but I haven't been able to get it out of my kids' hands! I have a 9-year-old and an 11-year-old, and they fight over this book on a daily basis. My 11-year-old started with the stories he thought "looked interesting," and my 9-year-old just started reading from the beginning. I was able to read about two stories before they found the book, and I can tell you it is very well written. There don't seem to be many (if any) words that both of my kids can't pronounce or understand. The stories are short enough to keep my kids interested without being too long, so they don't lose interest. After my 11-year-old finished reading the first book and found out that a second book was coming out, he begged me to get it... of course, I didn't say no! The graphics are simply beautiful! I'm really hoping there's a third one on the way!
So, at our Friday night table, I decided to read one of your stories out loud (the woman who had picked them up for me in CH was there with her husband, and she would not let me pay her back, so this was a show of gratitude of sorts). This couple is a nice traditional couple, and their daughter caught the Chabad bug on campus and has moved to CH to learn at Machon. There were also two "older" single guys, trying to figure out this mitzvah thing (one is trying to make his house kosher, and the other is trying to find documentation that he's actually Jewish ????). I like to do a lot of shtick, so I opened Volume 2 randomly, and saw a story that didn't catch my eye. But the lady who bought the books pointed to the next page and said, "That one! Shabbos in the Gas Station!" Well, everyone was actually quiet while I read, BH. I served dessert in the middle for crowd control, but it was a real hit! I'm not sure what kind of feedback you get from your books, but I sure hope you enjoyed this little story!
I finally had time to pick up the second volume this Shabbos! I was literally hooked! I got serious goosebumps reading most of the stories. So, so amazing!
Hi Gut Voch, I had an 11-year-old girl as a guest at my house. I offered her your book, "Amazing Miracle Stories." At first, she didn’t want it, but later I read her one story. After that, she was glued to the book for the rest of Shabbos. I think she might have taken the book with her. Can I pick up a new one?
I just wanted to share that over Shabbos I was at my brother's house and he had your book (first volume). My niece asked if I could read her a story, and after reading one, she kept on asking for another! I must have read over 15 stories over Shabbos! She even asked me to re- read two of them. I appreciated the way the stories were written to make it understandable for kids, and it was incredible to see the impact they had. The questions she was asking showed me how she was really internalizing the messages and lessons they brought out.
We are babysitting three of our grandchildren in Wyoming (Shluchim) for two weeks so that our daughter could go on the JLI trip to Israel. The oldest child at home with us is six years old. Every night we read a book called 'Amazing Miracle Stories for Kids.' This book is wonderful, and I highly recommend it! Even the four-year-old sits very quietly and listens to the stories. I’m actually envious of my husband when he sits down before bedtime to read them a chapter or two because I’m missing out! If your children or grandchildren speak or understand English, buy the book. It’s a very worthwhile investment. Send it out as a gift! I don’t have anything to do with the book; I just want to let people know about it because we and our grandchildren are enjoying it so much.
Yosef, I wanted to thank you for sending me your new book, although it’s for the org, being that it came close to Pesach I kept it at home for Yom Tov, there was a non stop line for it all Yom Tov until everyone had read it.
I recently spent Pesach with several families, all of whom are closely related as the parents are siblings. During our stay, we had the pleasure of having Volume 3 of your series with us. It was truly a hit among the kids! There was only one copy available, but that didn't dampen their enthusiasm. The children formed lines, eagerly waiting for their turn to read it. It was heartwarming to see them so engaged and excited about the book.
My niece came over today. When I told her we had volume 3, she literally clapped and cheered and ran to get it
My twin grandsons in Baltimore are having the stories read to them by their Rebbe. One of the twins already read the entire book anyway
I recently read the book you sent me, and I owe you a huge thank you for it! It turned out to be the perfect "relax on the couch" read that I desperately needed. One of the stories, the one about Pesach in Tyler, Texas (I read it twice, so I can't remember which volume it was in), inspired me in a way I didn't expect. It motivated me to finally take a trip I'd been longing to do. Today, despite the rain, I drove 2.5 hours just to visit the Ohel and be with the Rebbe. This experience is something my kids will forever remember and be thankful for. Fun fact: I bet you didn't know I'm Satmar! My next trip is already planned – Monroe, B'ezras Hashem. This book is more than just a collection of stories; it has the power to inspire and create lasting memories. Highly recommended!
